Fábricas del Noroeste, S.A. of C.V. (FANOSA),was founded in the city of Hermosillo, Sonora in 1968, becoming the first company dedicated to the production of expanded polystyrene products in Northwestern Mexico.
Four years later, FANOSA begins operations in the city of Mexicali, B.C., in order to serve the market of Baja California and Baja California Sur. In 1974, FANOSA opens in Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico a plant for the Sinaloa market.
FANOSA products quickly achieved great demand due to their versatility in different applications, and thanks to their heat and sound insulation properties, they became the ideal material for heat insulation due to the prevailing extreme climate in the area. It also substantially improved construction methods and systems.
With its ten industrial plants, FANOSA supplies over 85% of the construction products market in the area, and more than 30% nationwide. In 2002, a merging process for the 3 companies was started, whit the goal of centralizing efforts, and creating an entrepreneurial synergy within the Group. Since 2004, the legal entity has been known as FANOSA, S.A. de C.V.
Today, FANOSA generates about 900 jobs in ten plants, twenty distribution centers and a cutting and sales center. FANOSA Group uses up-to-day technology to produce non-polluting expanded polystyrene products, chlorofluorocarbons (CFC´S) free, and 100% recyclable such as: molded industrial and agricultural parts, beams and blocks, insulation boards, concrete replacement blocks, insulation concrete forms, marina floaters, among others. FANOSA'S state of the art, offers unmatched quality products meeting the most rigorous standards at the global level.
