How does Foamblock fare against traditional materials such as bricks and blocks in terms of structural resistance?
Foamblock beats brick and block structures. We are talking about a reinforced concrete wall; it has a resistance of 150 kg/cm²for each square meter.
Is it necessary to use supports and chains with Foamblock?
Since Foamblock is a concrete wall, it is not always necessary to use these elements because they are only used with bricks or blocks; or in any situation where there are certain load concentrations.
When building with Foamblock, is only the reinforced cell poured? or the whole wall?
The wall should be completely poured, placing the concrete according to the proper practices of handling and placing.
What does the separation of the beam and Foamblock wall depend on?
It depends on the load's behavior over the supporting walls, and generally speaking, a separation of 0.75m is established, with a diameter of 3/8" grade 4200 or its equivalent in steel, grade 6000.
How good is Foamblock as a heat insulator?
It has a value of (R) =11.40, which corresponds to 3" of expanded polystyrene or 2" or polyurethane. Besides, it is already included when building begins.
Can objects be hanged and nailed to the wall?
Of course, you can use concrete nails and expandable plastic screw anchors that you can obtain at any hardware store.
Is it flammable?
FOAMBLOCK contains fire retardant elements that when combined with the wall's coverings positively handles rigorous fire tests of up to 550°C (Test conducted by the Mexican Institute of Cement and Concrete A.C., México D.F., August 2000).
What are the main advantages of using Foamblock?
