Due the fact that polystyrene can easily be molded to fit the intended product and the required resistance can also be adjusted.
What's the polystyrene's resistance or how is it measured?
It can be manufactured in 1lb., 1.5lb. and 2lb. The resistance depends on the type of material being packaged and the exposure it will receive.
What's the polystyrene's flexibility or how is it measured?
It depends on the manufacturing density, but any required design can be supplied since we have the most up-to-date technology in our facilities.
What's the difference in price between polystyrene and cardboard?
It would be necessary to know the cardboard's specification to be able to make an exact comparison, but the basic difference is that polystyrene molding is capable of maintaining its physical shape and dimensions. The shock-absorption capabilities of expanded polystyrene absorb the energy produced by bumps and vibrations, thus preventing damage to the product. Expanded polystyrene is also a water-proof material that insulates and is resistant to humidity; this allows ventilation to go through. Due its lightweight, it reduces transportation costs, labor, freight costs and also lagging time.
Is there a limit on the model's dimensions?
No, they can be cut to any shape and size.
What's the advantage of molded and cut pieces?
Molded pieces are those that due to their design do not need special cuts, a model with little change and representing great volume; for this, it will be necessary to manufacture a special mold for your project.
Cut pieces have a lower cost since they a costly mold does not have to be manufactured, it is only necessary to have the pieces' diagram and the mold is cut accordingly. In this case, sizes can be varied without a problem and do not have additional costs.
